All training will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., with a lunch and morning/ afternoon breaks.
All training sessions will follow the COVID-19 rules that are applicable to the location.
What You’ll Learn
The Tax Commission conducts annual county commissioner training as required by Idaho Code (I.C.) 63-105A(6) and I.C. 63-105A(17). Participants will be provided with a copy of the 2014 Board of Equalization manual, as adopted by the Idaho Association of Counties Board of Directors. You’ll receive instruction and review of appraisal principles, the appraisal process, Board of Equalization best practices, and have the opportunity to participate in mock valuation appeals.
All county commissioners are invited to attend, along with county assessors and chief deputies. All other elected officials are welcome as well.
George Brown, Division Administrator, and Matt Virgil, Consulting Appraiser Section Manager, from the Property Tax Division of the Idaho State Tax Commission, will lead the training sessions.
