The IAC membership voted in September 1997 to establish a litigation fund of $1 million to help counties deal with industrial value lawsuits. A committee was appointed to recommend a voluntary contribution by each county, as well as develop criteria for use of the funds. Governed and funded by IAC members, the VLF provides critical support for expert witnesses, appraisals, and legal costs in property valuation lawsuits that have statewide implications.
