2026 Idaho Association of Commissioners and Clerks Annual Conference Recap

The Idaho Association of Commissioners and Clerks (IACC) gathered in Nampa, Idaho, June 2–4 for its 2026 Annual Conference. County commissioners, clerks, exhibitors, and partners from across the state came together for three days of education, networking, and business.

The conference kicked off on Tuesday morning with a welcome from IACC President Zach Brooks, who greeted attendees and welcomed them to Canyon County.

The first day featured a series of presentations focused on Idaho’s energy future and statewide energy planning efforts. Speakers included Stephanie Linehart, Boise State University’s Energy Policy and Environmental Governance Program; Cally Younger, Idaho Governor’s Office of Energy and Mineral Resources; Megan Ronk, Idaho Power; and Aaron Menenberg, Renewable Northwest. Together, the presenters provided attendees with valuable insight into Idaho’s evolving energy landscape.

Following a luncheon sponsored by ICRMP, attendees heard from a legislative panel featuring Representative Bruce Skaug, Representative Jason Monks, and Senator Lori Den Hartog. The afternoon concluded with a risk management presentation from ICRMP Human Resources Risk Manager Tammy Middleton, before members convened for the annual IACC Business Meeting. During the meeting, attendees approved the FY27 budget, discussed proposed resolutions, and heard candidate speeches for the office of Secretary/Treasurer.

On Wednesday, commissioners and clerks participated in separate breakout sessions tailored to their respective roles. Commissioners began the day with a presentation from George Brown, Idaho State Tax Commission Division Administrator, which also provided attendees with a core credit through IAC’s County Officials Institute (COI). Following lunch, commissioners participated in a roundtable discussion before receiving a legislative update from IAC policy staff.

Clerks spent the day exploring topics including artificial intelligence in county government, jury management, legislative updates, social media outreach, and office management best practices.

The day concluded with the annual IACC social event at The Craft Lounge in Nampa. Attendees enjoyed an evening of networking, appetizers, and refreshments in a relaxed setting.

The conference wrapped up on Thursday with the final IACC Business Meeting and the installation of new officers. During the ceremony, Bingham County Commissioner Eric Jackson was sworn in as IACC President, while Lewis County Clerk Alesia Winner advanced to the position of Vice President. Rebecca Wood, Lincoln County Commissioner was elected as IACC Secretary/Treasurer, and Canyon County Commissioner Zach Brooks assumed the role of Immediate Past President.

IACC extends its appreciation to all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees who helped make the 2026 Annual Conference a success. The 2027 IACC Annual Conference will be held June 8–10 at the Canyon Crest Event Center in Twin Falls County.
