2026 NACo Annual Conference

The National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference is a fantastic opportunity for county elected officials to gather each year. NACo’s Annual Conference includes a variety of committee and caucus meetings, educational workshops, general sessions, and much more. According to John David Davidson, Blaine County Treasurer and IAC Naco representative, the NACo Annual Conference provides the chance for elected officials to “gather, share ideas and insights, and to learn from one another”, ultimately learning how to “appropriately face the challenges that we face as counties”. The conference will offer a full range of learning opportunities on county responsibilities, domestic policy issues, best practices, and opportunities to learn more about NACo’s membership and priorities.

For Kathy Ackerman, Idaho County Clerk and IAC’s other NACo representative, the value of this opportunity is evident: “NACo conferences provide Idaho elected officials with an opportunity to gather new ideas for tackling challenges we face, as well as share our perspectives with attendees from across the US.” Ackerman emphasizes that active involvement—whether through webinars or committees—ensures Idaho always has a “place at the table.” Her advice to fellow officials? “Go! You won’t be sorry!”
