In observance of Veterans Day, the National Association of Counties (NACo) launched its fifth annual Operation Green Light for Veterans campaign. Throughout the week-long initiative, counties across the nation illuminated their buildings, offices, and streetlights in green to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans.

The green light serves as a visible symbol of gratitude, reminding veterans that their service is recognized, their sacrifices are honored, and their presence is deeply valued.

Many Idaho counties proudly joined the effort, demonstrating their deep appreciation for veterans and their steadfast commitment to supporting those who have served.

Idaho County Clerk Kathy Ackerman shared, “There are many things I love about living in a rural community, but one of the main reasons is the ongoing recognition and respect shown toward veterans. Our participation in Operation Green Light is another opportunity to acknowledge their sacrifices and the unique challenges many veterans face.”
