Have served 8 years in City Government, a total of 7 years to date in County government and 18 years as department Director in State Government. All administrative positions. Leadership and management has been and is my life.

I currently serve as Chair of the Juvenile Training Council, a member of the Misdemeanor Training Council, Serve as the IAC Representative

Briefly state your reasons for seeking the position and any other qualifications that might be an asset to IAC.

I have found NACo to be a valuable asset, I attended the NACo Conference in D.C in 1996 as well as WIR in Long Mont Colorado in 1995, Las Vegas in 2019, and am currently serving in the Agriculture & Rural Affairs Monthly Committee Meeting. Have served on the Justice and Public Safety Committee in past years.

List IAC/NACo/WIR events/conferences/meetings that you’ve participated in over the last four years.

Attended NACO in D.C in 1996, Las Vegas 2019, and numerous Webinars and Zoom presentations pertaining to COVID and Rural development as well as Justice and Public Safety Zoom meetings. COVID presented a number of challenges in 20 and 21.

Brent D Reinke is grateful to be a third generation Idahoan born in Twin Falls County.

Brent and Carla were married in Filer and raised 5 boys all graduating from filer High School, this coming June they will celebrate their 48th anniversary.

 In 1981 started MR. B’s fine food in Filer and later in Buhl, in 83 started the tradition of having a food booth at the Twin Falls County Fair, 2021 marked the 38th year the Reinke family at the fair.

Brent’s public life started in 1986, and over the following 38 years served as a Filer City Council man, Twin Falls County Commissioner, Director of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections, and then Director of the Department of Corrections for the State of Idaho. During his 18 years of state service Brent was Chairman of the governor Criminal Justice Commission for 8 years and was privileged to serve 4 consecutive Governors during his career.

As of January 2019 Brent, is serving once again as Twin Falls County Commissioner, and an active member of IAC.

My goal is to apply my 38 years of public service to the current and future needs of my home county of Twin Falls and to the future challenges facing the Idaho Association of Counties.
