The Idaho State Association of County Coroners (ISACC) gathered at the Riverside Hotel, September 17–18, for their Annual Conference. The event brought together 27 elected coroners and 6 deputies for two days of education, collaboration, and connection.
In addition, 12 coroners joined the Idaho Association of Counties’ Annual Conference to participate in joint workshops that explored timely topics—such as the rise of home burials and proactive county planning, as well as a public administration toolkit to help coroners and treasurers navigate complex cases together.
To unwind and connect outside the classroom, attendees enjoyed a relaxed social hour on the Riverside patio, sponsored by A.D. Valor with Ryan Gausman.
Conference training sessions featured the Idaho State Police Forensic Team, who led hands-on instruction in fingerprint and palm exemplar collection; NMS Labs, who provided insight into interpreting lab results; and Brett Harding, Chief Deputy Coroner for Ada County, who shared expert guidance on case examination. A highlight of the event was a joint presentation by county prosecutors Chris Boyd (Canyon) and Ian Johnson (Bannock), who discussed best practices for report writing and documentation.
The conference concluded with ISACC’s annual business meeting and election of the 2025–2026 Board of Directors:
Members reflected on the Association’s growth and reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening Idaho’s network of coroners. Through continued education, collaboration, and mutual support, ISACC is building a stronger, more unified community of county coroners—one that stands ready to serve Idaho with professionalism and care.
