Legislative Committee Meeting Recap – January 15, 2025

The IAC Legislative Committee met in person for the first time this year at IAC’s downtown policy office. Those who could not make the trip to Boise joined virtually. 

The event started off with the approval of January 8th meeting minutes, followed by a dive into counties’ legislative priorities for the 2025 session. Members discussed public defense reform, youth vape prevention, consolidating elections, and more. Discussion wrapped with potential new legislation on the horizon. 

Don Hall, Twin Falls County Commissioner and chair of the IAC Legislative Committee, shared his thoughts by stating, “The Legislative Committee remains highly dedicated to collaborating with IAC staff on key legislation this year. Our committee has welcomed several new members who have already proven to be valuable additions, and I’m excited about the progress we can achieve together this legislative session.”

The Legislative Committee meets every Wednesday alternating in-person and virtual formats. The committee focuses on upcoming and current legislative priorities. View members of IAC’s Legislative Committee here.
