The Idaho Association of County Treasurers (IACT) was well represented at the 2024 National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers & Finance Officers (NACCTFO) conference in Tampa, Florida. The mentoring opportunities and insights into how other states’ county governments operate were enlightening. Valuable education topics included “Cybersecurity”, “Nuts & Bolts of Tax Administration”, “Work Life Balance as a Retention Strategy”, “Artificial Intelligence”, and “ChatGPT”.
IACT members in attendance were Amber Sloan, Elmore County Treasurer, NACCTFO director, and IACT immediate past president; Gina Turner, Boise County Treasurer and NACCTFO director; Dawn Erlewine, Clearwater County Treasurer and wildcard-drawing winner to attend NACCTFO; Kammy McFarland, Lemhi County Treasurer and IACT vice president; Tevian Kober, Jerome County Treasurer and IACT president; Cathy Smith, Elmore County Chief Deputy Treasurer; and Jill Smith, Kootenai County Chief Deputy Treasurer.
While attending the conference, Amber Sloan and Jill Smith were presented with education awards from NACCTFO for their continuing education hours.
