IAC Celebrates Record Number of County Officials Institute Graduates at 50th Anniversary Conference
The Idaho Association of Counties (IAC) celebrated its 50th anniversary this September at its Annual Conference in Boise. Each year, Idaho’s counties and their elected officials gather to attend workshops, participate in roundtable discussions, meet in committees, and shape the association’s policy platform for the year ahead. The conference is also when IAC holds its graduation ceremony for the County Officials Institute (COI), and this year’s class made history. The graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 23, as part of the 2026 IAC Annual Conference, where IAC recognized 33 county elected officials, the largest graduating class in the program’s history.
What It Takes to Graduate
Earning a COI certificate is a real commitment. Each graduate completed 18 core credits and 12 elective credits, and county commissioners earned an additional 10 commissioner core credits on top of that. Most of those credits are earned alongside full-time public service, which means early drives across the state, full days of sessions, and plenty of learning done after the workday ends.
Congratulations to this year’s graduates! We can’t wait to see the leadership they bring home to their counties. The complete list of graduates can be found below!
