The Idaho Association of County Treasurers (IACT) had the pleasure of meeting for their Annual Conference in beautiful McCall, Idaho, August 7-10. District 3 treasurers did a wonderful job of hosting the association. The 43 treasurers in attendance enjoyed a lively dinner cruise around the lake with scenic views and great company.
Attendees heard from several presenters including Alan Dornfest, Idaho State Tax Commission Bureau Chief, and Kathlynn Ireland, Property Tax Policy Specialist. Seth Grigg, IAC Executive Director and Sara Westbrook, IAC Director of Government Affairs, answered questions as well and provided legislative updates.
Julie Ellsworth, Idaho State Treasurer, also helped attendees navigate the Luma conversion. Luma is the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that is currently being implemented for statewide use. Luma will manage the State’s budget, accounting, procurement, human capital management, and payroll modules and replace current systems, so the training was highly valuable and timely.
Other education topics included “Investing Basics (In a Complicated Time)” with Chas Kipp, Multi-Bank Securities, Inc. Senior Vice President and “Getting the Right People and Keeping Them” presented by Tammy Middleton, ICRMP Human Resources Risk Manager.
The Conference Installation and Education Awards Banquet was also held during the conference at Riverside Pines in Cascade, Idaho. During the banquet, IACT’s 2023-2024 Executive Officers were sworn in and several awards were presented, including the Mills-Adler award, which is given to officials from various affiliate associations for their dedication and significant contributions to their counties. This year’s Mills-Adler recipient was Washington County Treasurer Sabrina Young, who has served as IACT Education Chair for the past eight years.
The Conference concluded with the business meeting and adjourned at noon on Thursday, August 10. See and download IACT conference photos on our Flickr account.
