Twin Falls County Commissioner and IAC Legislative Committee Chair Don Hall was recently appointed to the Idaho Legislature. His resignation created a vacancy for the IAC Legislative Chair and Vice Chair positions.
“We commend Commissioner Hall for his steadfast dedication to ensuring that county perspectives were acknowledged, considered, and professionally and effectively advocated for during his tenure as a commissioner and as the IAC Legislative Committee Chair,” said IAC President Jenny Rosin. “While we will miss collaborating with him at the county level, we are enthusiastic about the prospect of his continued effective service within the Idaho Legislature. His demonstrated commitment to public service will undoubtedly continue to benefit Idaho citizens in his new capacity in the House of Representatives.”
President Rosin recently filled the IAC Legislative Committee leadership positions. President Ada County Commissioner Tom Dayley was appointed as the new IAC Legislative Committee Chair and Clearwater County Sheriff Chris Goetz as Vice Chair.
Commissioner Dayley is currently serving his second term as an Ada County Commissioner. He served as a state representative in the Idaho Legislature from 2012 to 2019. He also served as the Idaho State Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency under the Regan administration and the first term of the Trump administration. For the past two years, Commissioner Dayley has served as the Vice Chair of the IAC Legislative Committee.
Sheriff Goetz is currently serving his fifth term as sheriff. He is a past president of IAC and serves on the Board of Directors. He has served as the Idaho Sheriffs Association President twice. He also served as the IAC Legislative Chair for two years in 2018-2019.
“The IAC Legislative Committee’s leadership remains in capable hands. We commend Commissioner Dayley and Sheriff Goetz for their readiness to serve and assist in advancing IAC’s priorities and policies,” said IAC Executive Director Seth Grigg. “Their long-standing relationships with legislators and demonstrated commitment to effective engagement at the Capitol are invaluable.”
