The Idaho Association of Counties (IAC) Board of Directors met in Sun Valley for their Spring Board Planning and Development Meeting on April 24, 2025. Attendees were welcomed with opening remarks from John David Davidson, IAC President and Blaine County Treasurer.
Board members spent considerable time reviewing the proposed 2026 budget and eventually approving it. The budget overview covered IAC, IAC Service Corporation, Public Lands Trust, the Scholarship Fund, the Corporate Partner Program, and more.
IAC Executive Director Seth Grigg presented many of the materials to the board, including a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, and invited attendees to break out into working groups for an exercise that delved into actionable goals and objectives, aligning with the SWOT analysis.
Board members made decisions regarding the IAC Scholarship Fund and the number of scholarships offered and the amount of each, opting to offer runner-up scholarships in the amount of $500 each. They also approved the Daniel G. Chadwick Civility Award – a distinction created to honor the legacy of IAC’s late executive director.
Finally, board members heard presentations from two of IAC’s top Corporate Partners, CES and Syringa, both of which are working to bring streamlined procurement services to Idaho’s counties.
Outside of the meeting, attendees enjoyed exploring picturesque Sun Valley and mingling during the group’s curated dinner at the Sawtooth Club.
The next Board Meeting and Breakfast will be held on September 15, 2025, in Boise at the IAC Annual Conference.
