The IAC District 5 meeting was held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Franklin County. Bannock County Commissioner Jeff Hough, who serves as Chairman for District 5, called the meeting to order followed by the pledge of allegiance.
The first item on the agenda was the approval of the previous July meeting minutes and the treasurer’s report. Les Patterson from Red Edge Mentoring followed with a presentation on Intentional Leadership that covered how to clarify what matters most as you lead yourself, guide your team, and serve your constituents.
After the presentation, there was a legislative update provided by Senator James Ruchti, Representative Dan Garner, Senator Mark Harris, Representative Rick Cheatum, and Renee Richardson for Senator Risch. To conclude the meeting, Adam McKinney, Bannock County chief technical officer, spoke on regional county dispatch.
After the meeting adjourned, attendees departed for a tour at Trails West Trailers. Members got an inside look at the creation of horse trailers from start to finish. Trails West, started in 1987, has grown from its original one-model operation to developing an entire line of horse trailers, living quarters, stock trailers, and recreation trailers, all of which are produced in-house at their facility in Preston, Idaho.
The next District 5 meeting will be November 7, 2024 in Bannock County. Check out the meeting photos on IAC’s Flickr Page.
