Summarize your background and how it relates to the position you are seeking.

I have been active in IAC and other statewide committees for the past 10 years. Being involved in state organizations has been a priority because building relationships at the state level is critical to the success of local government. The training and education offered through IAC is especially important for commissioners, specifically the training provided by the County Officials Institute and IAC. I recently completed all the courses within that institute. Continually seeking professional learning, especially leadership training, is important in all aspects of service.

List participation and years of participation on any IAC Committees, the IAC Board of Directors, and any leadership positions within your affiliate organization.

IAC: Board of Directors from 2016 – 2022, including 4 years as 5th District Representative and 2 years as NACo Representative.
Currently serving as 2nd Vice Chair for Idaho Association of Commissioners and Clerks (IACC)
NACo: 2 years on the NACo Board of Directors as the Idaho representative.
Vice Chair of IAC Public Lands Committee for 2 years.
Currently serving on the Governor’s Public Defense Committee.

Briefly state your reasons for seeking the position and any other qualifications that might be an asset to IAC.

I would like to serve as 2nd Vice President of IAC because I would like to continue to serve the citizens of Idaho and work with exemplary leaders throughout the state. I have learned a lot about the importance of State and County Government and appreciate the value of networking with dedicated leaders of local government throughout Idaho. I realize the importance of working together to find solutions to difficult problems.

NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, DC in 2020 and 2022
NACo Annual Conference in Denver in 2022
NACo Board Training in Omaha, NE in 2019
Attended every IAC and legislative conference except September 2022, due to surgery.
