Week Four: 2025 Legislative Session Update

This week has been a whirlwind—in the best way possible! Thank you to everyone who came to Boise for the Midwinter Legislative Conference. There were so many highlights, but one that stands out is hosting nearly 200 county officials at the Capitol. It was a proud moment to walk the halls with so many county friends, sharing fun facts—like why I never “cross the seal.”

When we asked you to meet with your legislators and advocate for IAC’s priorities, you delivered. Your willingness to engage wasn’t just a task—it was a crucial part of the legislative process. And when we called on you to take action on public notices, so many of you answered. In fact, in just one day, I received 23 text messages from county officials updating me on their outreach. Your dedication did not go unnoticed, and my words are inadequate to express how grateful I am to work with such a fantastic team of county leaders.

Even though you’re back home, the work isn’t over. The deadline to introduce bills in the House and Senate is just 10 days away, and things are moving fast. Please stay informed and engaged—your advocacy could be the difference between a bill passing or failing.

We are not backing down from any of IAC’s five priorities, and we hope you won’t either. Keep reaching out to your legislators and sharing why these issues matter to your county. Stay tuned to the IAC Bill Tracker, and don’t forget to join us next Friday, February 7, at 11 AM MST / 10 AM PST, for our next Live Legislative Update
