By Bert Heslington, ISA President
Thursday, June 27, 2024, was a very proud and historical evening for the state of Idaho, the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) and Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue. Throughout that week, the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) held their Annual Conference and Presidential Banquet in Oklahoma City, OK.
During the inauguration ceremony, Sheriff Donahue was sworn in as the 84th President of the National Sheriffs’ Association. This is the first time that a sheriff from the state of Idaho has held this position.
This inauguration is a testament to Sheriff Donahue’s commitment to Canyon County, the state of Idaho, and to our great country. It is the result of a tremendous level of commitment and passion at so many levels. His work at the local, state, and national level regarding legislation, border security, the narcotics crisis, domestic violence, and other matters of public safety are all illustrations of this commitment.
It was an honor to be in Oklahoma City to support our new NSA President Kieran Donahue. On behalf of the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association, I congratulate you. I thank you and I appreciate you continuing “the fight” on behalf of our state, our association, and our great nation!
