The Idaho State Association of County Coroners (ISACC) met in Boise, Idaho, for their Annual Conference this September. ISACC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization comprised of 44 county elected coroners.
Attendees met at the Riverside Hotel for two days to conduct their association’s business, participate in roundtable discussions, learn from industry experts, and enjoy networking opportunities via a hosted social hour sponsored by A.D. Valor Technical Cleaning.
The first day of the event provided workshops and professional development for attendees hosted by various agencies, including Idaho Fish and Game, the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office Evidence Response Team (ERT), and Ada County on Medicolegal Death Investigation (MDI) Log training.
The second day of the conference was kicked off by the ISACC Business Meeting, which included legislative updates, the election of officers, and approval of the FY2024 budget. During the installation ceremony, Pamela Garlock of Boise County was installed as ISACC President, Torey Danner of Bannock County was elected to 1st Vice President, Sam Butikofer of Madison County was elected to 2nd Vice President, and Craig Rinehart of Cassia County took his position as Immediate Past President.
After the Business Meeting, members heard from Morgan Hill of OSHA before attending a presentation on mental health and resilience with a focus on the effects of trauma by Dr. Janet O. Allen LCPC, Clinical Director of Creekside Counseling LLC.
The event wrapped with training on the Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) for both new and seasoned coroners and staff hosted by Pam McCrary of Vital Statistics.
