The Idaho Sheriffs Association (ISA) and the Idaho Jail Administrators Association (IJAA) gathered at the Riverside Hotel this December for the 2022 ISA & IJAA Annual Conference. The three-day event, held from December 13 – 15, featured opening remarks from Governor Brad Little, as well as presentations from keynote speakers on leadership, concerns of police survivors, trauma, burnout, resilience, and more.
ISA and IJAA members also attended additional trainings, met in legislative and operations committees, and conducted their respective business meetings. Throughout the conference, refreshment breaks were scheduled in to allow time for networking between members and with the many conference exhibitors and sponsors.
“This is our 60th anniversary as an association, and each year we grow stronger and more united,” said ISA Executive Director Jeff Lavey. “This conference brings together sheriffs, jail administrators and deputies from throughout Idaho for meaningful discussions, education, and training that enable us to serve Idahoans to the best of our abilities and keep our great state safe.”
During the conference, the ISA installed their new president, Clearwater County Sheriff Chris Goetz. The previous ISA president, Latah County Sheriff Richie Skiles, was honored for his dedication and leadership over the previous year.
The ISA and IJAA will meet again in the spring for the 2023 ISA & IJAA Spring Conference from May 9 – May 11 at the Sun Valley Resort.
