IAC provides many educational opportunities to meet the needs of our members. IAC recognizes that continuing education is one of the most important keys to success for county elected officials. We are dedicated to providing meaningful and accessible opportunities for county leaders. View our opportunities below to see what IAC offers throughout the year.

Annual Conference

IAC holds its Annual Conference in September in Boise. The event, which is normally attended by over 200 county officials, lasts approximately three days. The conference features committee meetings, guest speakers, general sessions, workshops on topics of current county interest, a general business meeting, an exhibit hall, and most importantly, an opportunity for county officials to share information. It is at this meeting that IAC’s legislative agenda and general policies are set for the next year.

Midwinter Legislative Conference

During each legislative session, IAC hosts a conference in Boise, typically the first full week of February. The goal of the conference is to bring the county elected officials up to date on IAC’s legislative package, as well as other major legislative proposals affecting counties. County officials have an opportunity to visit with their legislators and provide testimony on key bills.

County Officials Institute

The County Officials Institute (COI) is a training program designed to provide the skills and knowledge to be an effective leader in county government. County elected officials and county staff are welcome to participate in the program. For more information on COI, please visit our COI page.

District Meetings

IAC has six districts that meet at various times of the year throughout the state. The meetings offer county elected officials an opportunity to network and learn about regional issues from their neighboring counties.

Affiliate Association Meetings and Conferences

Each affiliate association holds an Annual Conference. Several affiliates hold additional meetings or trainings throughout the year. Check the IAC calendar for upcoming events.
