This announcement is to provide some details on the new NACo High Performance Leadership Academy (www.naco.org/skills).

This is the program NACo launched last year in partnership with the team from the Professional Development Academy, including General Colin Powell, Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, and many others.

Since the launch last year, the demand for this program by NACo members has been truly unprecedented. To provide a sense of the effectiveness this program has had on making leaders better, consider these testimonials from Academy graduates from Idaho:

  • The most valuable aspect of this program towards my leadership development is connecting, listening, and learning from professionals of different organizations and experiences.David Crawford, Valley County IT Director
  • “I enjoyed the change management, negotiation skills, and the focus on high-level perspective while ensuring details are monitored. It was helpful to have other executive leadership speak candidly regarding their roles and challenges.” – Cassandra Porter, Ada County HR Manager
  • “The most valuable portion of this training was the Thursday interaction with my breakout group. It was followed closely by the video portions of each week’s training. I really benefited from Marshall Goldsmith and General Powell however the other corporate leaders were great also. I found great benefit from the reading assignments and will be reviewing some of them in the near future.”  Lon Colton, Oneida County Clerk

The program has proven relevant and practical. Additionally, it is convenient and non-disruptive to busy schedules. The 12 weeks of content are expertly facilitated online and it takes about 3 – 4 hours per week for participants to fully engage in the program. The retail price is $2,495, but every ID county receives an $850 scholarship, bringing the cost to $1,645 per participant.

The next cohorts launch on August 2nd and September 13th and it would be great to enroll a few people from each county in ID. To date, we have the following counties participating:

  • Ada
  • Adams
  • Bannock
  • Bingham
  • Blaine
