The ADA and Access to the Courts

The Idaho Supreme Court invites all county officials and staff to attend a district training on the ADA and Access to the Courts.  This 1.5 hour training is complimentary and sponsored by the Idaho Supreme Court.  The course will include: 

* Introduction to the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design

* Discussion of recent federal court cases, federal enforcement, and liability trends that directly impact local and state government in Idaho

* Description of one county’s experience with the DOJ’s review of its court facilities under the broad enforcement powers of the DOJ

* Description of technical assistance available through the Idaho Supreme Court to assist counties with assessment of court facilities

Bruce L. Adelson, Esq, CEO of Federal Compliance Consulting LLC, is nationally recognized for his expertise concerning The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, The Americans with Disabilities Act, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, The Voting Rights Act of 1965, federal law enforcement, and complex federal and state litigation. Bruce L. Adelson is a former U.S Department of Justice Senior Trial Attorney.

Andrea Patterson brings over fifteen years of legal and human resources expertise to bear on a full range of employment matters affecting organizations. Currently, Ms. Patterson is the HR Director for the Idaho Supreme Court and works throughout Idaho on human resources policy matters, legislation, and human resources issues impacting the Idaho Courts at all levels.
